Regionals was a blast!

I am exhausted, but had to tell you how much fun Regionals was! I am so impressed with Close to my Heart as a company, and I was so happy to meet Jeanette Lynton, the founder and CEO of CTMH! And yes, she really is as amazing, humble, and nice in person as she is on Art & Soul! In fact, the entire executive team from CTMH was wonderful!

I am not done with any of the layouts we did because I need to print up pictures for them, so I will post those when they are complete. But I do want to share my swap card:

My temporary set-up in the bed room while we are in "Remodel Mode"; an ariel view of my swap card- a work in progress:

The front of my card (template is Originals: Winning Combination):

And the inside:
Fun details about the card- I CUT apart my Bunny stamp so I could use the bubbles separately. I used the Write 'n Rub pen to adhere prisma glitter to some of the bubbles and then covered all bubbles with liquid glass. The bunny tail is covered with Liquid Applique to look "fluffy", and the bunny is colored in using the blending pen technique highlighted in this month's Art & Soul episode.

I will definitely participate in swaps again, but will NEVER do another cut-out card like this one... It was just too much to get all the cut-outs to line up through all the layers (2 B&T, 2 Cardstock layers on the front) and make sure the image lines up inside... and then the coloring! I like coloring images, but using the blending pen on 13 bunnies was a little much!

It was an amazing two days, filled with fun, creativity and new friends! I was so lucky to get to go, and will definitely look into attending more events in the future!

Quick note!

Just had to stop in and say hello to everyone... I just got back from the first of two days at the Close to My Heart Regionals! It was fabulous! The classes were inspiring, and the projects were awesome! I can't wait to share the cards I made with all of you... I have to get some pictures printed up for my layouts, and then I will post those, too! For the cards we played with Starstruck paper, and the layouts were from the That's Amore set (paper, Stickease, Journal cards). This was also my first time using the antique copper brads... simple embellishment, and I never gave them a second look, but after today, I am hooked! They look amazing with That's Amore!

It was a great day! And a big "Hi!" to Terrie and Ashleigh- I had a great time hanging out with you today!

More to come tomorrow!

Happy Valentines Day!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day! Here is the card I made for Eric:

I used the Fiskars Threading Water punch for the side, and put mini sparkles in the holes. So when you open it up, there are sparkles along the inside!

Paper: Bamboo and Black Textured cardstock
Stamps: Believe in your Dreams (swirls on front), Princess (tiny heart), Say it in Style (May 2008 SOTM for the saying inside).
Ink: Cranberry, Bamboo
Embellishments: Sparkles, Clear Friendship Dangles, White Hemp
Non CTMH: Fiskars Threading Water punch

I hope you have a beautiful day!

Good Times!

February marks CTMH's 25th Anniversary, and as always, they have something fun for everyone- a new stamp set, Good Times, that you can get FREE with a $25 stamp purchase. Of course I had to get it and already played around with it- I can see this one being one of my favorites- I love the little cupcake! Here is a 3x3 card I made with the new Daydream paper:

Too fun! Happy Creating to everyone!

PS- And Congratulatiosn to Pam, who's Purse Card (#4 below) won the Key to my Heart Card Contest! ALL cards were fantastic- thanks for playing!
